The World Expo 2020 is officially postponed!
The World Expo 2020 hosted by Dubai will be held from October 1, 2021 until March 31, 2022.
Official announcement of the Expo 2020 postponement was published on the site of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE).
The name of the event remains unchanged: “Expo 2020 Dubai”.
We could have hardly imagined that we would ever bear witness to the events which would forever alter our understanding of life, its true values and the importance of taking care of ourselves and our loved ones. #weareone
The Covid-19 pandemic has affected each and every part of our world and has dramatically changed the course of history, as well as our everyday lives. Now we must be as strong, humane and caring as never before.
Presently, the Executive Committee of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) has unanimously agreed to postpone “Expo 2020 Dubai” until 2021. However, many questions remain that are yet to be resolved. Since the postponement of the Expo requires the approval of the 2/3 majority of the BIE member states (as per article #28 of the 1928 Paris Convention), the General Assembly shall be convened to vote on this matter following the recommendation of the Executive Committee. The voting shall be conducted remotely from April 24 until May 29, 2020.
We keep up-to-date with the unfolding situation and will diligently inform you of any changes that concern “Expo 2020 Dubai” through our social media and the official site of the Ukrainian Pavilion at the World Expo 2020 in Dubai. Follow the news online and #stayhome
We must remember that the importance of human life is second to none!
